Joie

Joie clothing carries an easy, unstudied West Coast hand, a signature the label set in Los Angeles in 2001 when designer Joie Rucker and Sean Barron built it around soft fabrics, fluid cuts, and pieces meant to move rather than pose. That founding sensibility carries straight through the line. That sensibility shows up in what's on the rack: a hand-dyed off-the-shoulder blouse, a camo-print tapered jogger, a fringe-accent sleeveless top, a sleeveless jumpsuit, a cropped camo sweatshirt. Shirts and tops lead the assortment, the largest group here, with dresses, sweaters, and pants filling out sizes for women. Comfort leads every design. The name is French for joy, and the lineup earns it -- pieces built to be worn often, not admired once.
