Ben Sherman

Ben Sherman

Brighton, England, 1963: Arthur Benjamin Sugarman opens a small shirt factory in Hove and starts cutting Oxford-cloth button-downs that would carry a new name: Ben Sherman clothing. The collar caught on fast. Mods rode it across London on Lambrettas, Ska and skinhead crowds claimed it next, and by the '90s it was back onstage with Oasis and Blur at the height of Britpop. One shirt, four generations of British youth culture. What we carry today runs deeper than the shirt that started it all. Ben Sherman suits and suit separates make up the bulk of the stock here, cut for tailoring with a little edge instead of boardroom stiffness, backed by pressed trousers built to pair with them. The shirts are still around too: paisley swirl button-ups and textured-stripe knits, plus signature chino shorts for when the jacket comes off. Tuck one of those button-ups into the houndstooth trousers and the suits rack starts making a lot more sense.
